Power-Saving Challenge Package for households to launch for The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc.

(Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President & CEO: Akihiko Nakano, “SB Power”) are pleased to announce that The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc. has adopted its Power-Saving Challenge Package,※1, a household power-saving service for electricity retailers, and that the service will launch on July 18, 2023, as Gutto Zutto Power-Saving Challenge.
The Power-Saving Challenge Package boasts the largest number of households in Japan,※2 and The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc. is the sixth major electricity retailer to adopt it. We will continue to promote the use of power-saving services by all customers in Japan by expanding the Power-Saving Challenge Package to other electricity retailers.

■Gutto Zutto Power-Saving Challenge
The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc. has adopted Encored’s Power-Saving Challenge Package as a new power-saving initiative starting this summer. Gutto Zutto Power-Saving Challenge, the demand-response service for specified time slots, will begin on July 18. Using a dedicated app equipped with a simple UI that is well-regarded with the Power-Saving Challenge Package, customers are notified in advance of time periods during which their cooperation in saving power is requested. Customers who succeed in saving power are then awarded PayPay points※3 according to how much power they have saved.

■Efforts to increase adoption by electricity retailers
Since the introduction of power-saving services for SB Power in 2020, Encored has promoted activities to encourage other electric retailer customers to use its power-saving services. By packaging the common system development parts for the introduction of power-saving services as the Power-Saving Challenge Package, any electricity retailer can introduce the service without any burden quickly and at low cost. This led to the adoption by The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc.
